FITTING AMTICO - HOW IS IT FITTED?

Amtico can be installed on concrete, timber, stone and many other sub-floors providing suitable preparation is undertaken.

If you have a concrete sub-floor…

Fabulous Floors will check the floor for damp and advise you if a damp proof membrane needs to be applied. Then depending on the unevenness of the floor and any height differentials, a screeding process will take place to produce a smooth even floor to lay Amtico flooring.

New concrete can contain a high percentage of residual moisture and should be allowed sufficient time to dry thoroughly. Where it is impractical to wait a damp proof membrane can be applied.

If you have wooden floor boards or
chipboard sub-floor…

Any loose floor boards will be screwed down. A 6mm WBP (water and boil roof) plywood layer will be stapled to the floor boards. All joints will be filled to provide a clean and seamless surface for the Amtico flooring.

Fitting Amtico

The Amtico product is uniquely fitted using specialist adhesives. The tiles or strips are cut on site and fitted specifically to your requirements. Going tight up to sink pedestals, skirting etc or alternatively under kitchen unit plinths if desired.
